From 15 to 21 facets, availability is quite easy ; but from 22 to 38 facets, it is very rare. Other beads, apart from the 5-faceted ones, are very powerful and have certain specific uses. These different faceted beads selectively alter the personality and the mind - set in a positive way. Rudraksha is meant for the entire humanity. Can one wear the combination of Rudrakshas of different mukhis ?

Yes. One can wear the combination of all the beads. The individual powers of the different beads can be felt simultaneously. One can also wear a pendant of many beads of a specific facet. Either more number of a particular facet of beads or a mix of different faceted beads can be worn.

Choose the beads according to the properties of the different beads. Wearing multiple beads of the same mukhi enhances the power of that particular mukhi. You could add to this, the Rudraksha of specific planets, ( i.e., Rudrakshas for pacifying those planets that are giving negative influences in your natal horoscope ). Rudraksha therapy is also an effective therapy like gem therapy, as Rudraksha can pacify the negative influence of the planets. It also give peace and comfort to the wearer.

How can one test the genuinity of the beads ?

Tests like floating and sinking of beads to test the originality are not correct ones. Because even an unripe or dry, but genuine Rudraksha, may float, and a non - genuine bead may sink. Copper coin test etc., also do not give conclusive results, as nowadays fake Rudrakshas are made by tampering original Rudraksha beads. Use simple procedures like observing the Mukhi lines through magnifying glass, soaking in warm water to observe tampered Mukhi lines etc. The best way is to procure from a reliable source.

What are the procedures to be followed, before wearing Rudraksha for the first time ?

Rudraksha need to be purified and energised before they are worn. This is done by chanting of Rudrabhishek and Pranpratishtha mantras and washing the beads and offering incense, sandal paste and other offerings.
